We categorize our recipes 3 ways, good, better, best.

  • GOOD recipes contain an above average amount of fiber
  • BETTER recipes contain a higher amount of fiber
  • BEST recipes contain the highest amount of fiber

Huevos Rancheros Sandwich [Good Choice]

This portable breakfast has a few high-flavor ingredients to get your day off to a good start. The addition of refried beans and avocado packs the high fiber-high water that we’re looking for in order to lose weight.

Slimming tip: Use a whole-grain English muffin to make this recipe even more weight loss friendly.

Brown Rice Pudding [Better Choice]

Traditional rice pudding recipes use white rice, which causes bloating, and an expanding waistline. Not exactly something to help you look svelte. This recipe on the other hand, uses brown rice, which is associated with a slimmer waistline. Top it with some cooked apples, berries, or even orange slices for an extra boost of fiber.

Chicken Zoodle Soup [Better Choice]

As long as it’s cold and flu season, let’s make the best of it with traditional comfort food. This recipe takes it one step further with the trade off of versatile zucchini shredded thinly to look just like noodles, but is much more slimming.

Recipe Tip: If you’re vegetarian, use Gardein chicken strips instead of chicken.

I thought I’d tried beets every way imaginable. Beets are so good for you. They have nutrients no other vegetable does. But the earthy flavor can be unappetizing for some.

If you’re not a beet lover, you’ve got to try them roasted this way – they taste more like candy than a healthy vegetable.

Spicy Spaghetti Squash with Black Beans [Best Choice]

There should still be some leftover squash from the fall harvest at your local grocer’s. Get it and try this fun new take on traditional rice-and-beans. All the vegetables and beans in this recipe are Full Plate Approved for slimming down your waistline.
